From AKP's former mayor to AKP mayor: "Thieves"

Mehmet Karataş stated that the AKP filed a criminal complaint against the current Hassa Mayor , Selahattin Çolak, a month ago on corruption charges, claiming that Çolak was issuing invoices without purchasing any goods and transferring money to his relatives.

Addressing President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Çolak made the following statements:
"Thieves and bill collectors are running rampant. If someone steals chicken or eggs, they'll be incarcerated the same day. They're robbing the entire municipality."
"THEY ARE ROBBING THE MUNICIPALITY"
According to the news in Körfez Newspaper, Karataş added the following about the current mayor :

"They set up a company in the name of someone who has no connection to the municipality, and another in the name of the deputy mayor's nephew. They issue invoices through this company without even his nephew knowing about it. They extract money from the municipality.
Mr. President, listen carefully and hear our voices. While this money is being raised, this company is officially transferring documents from the bank to the mayor's nephew and relatives' official accounts. Why did you transfer this money? Let the prosecutor's office take your statements. These are not allegations, but facts.
I've given the names of those who shared this money among themselves to the prosecutor's office; they're all part of this network. They've formed a powerful network, a powerful gang, and they're robbing the municipality. This offends me, as an AK Party member, with a clear conscience. There's no need for such mayors in the AK Party; there's no need for such mayors in any party. Are you here to serve the people or to rob the municipality?
"THE RECEIPT BELONGS TO THE MUNICIPALITY, THE SIGNATURE IS FAKE"
Aktaş, stating that the current municipality does not issue invoices and purchase goods, continued his words as follows:
"Imagine the receipts they give are for 150 liters of gasoline. The receipts they sell to the market are 150 liters; which patient's car can hold 150 liters of fuel? How do they issue diesel receipts? They give work to Company A. Company A is a company they set up themselves. You can check the dates and the incoming and outgoing money. There are no workers at the company, or they've hired fictitious workers. They write down the license plates of the vehicles and forge the drivers' signatures. Then they say, 'Go buy diesel in our name from so-and-so's oil company.' Whose municipality owns the receipts, whose signature is a forged signature."
FRAUD ALLEGATION IN MOSQUE BUSINESS
Mehmet Karataş stated that the Akbez Mosque received a construction material invoice of 750 thousand TL from the Hassa Municipality, but not even a single nail was given to the mosque, as stated by the President of the Mosque Association in his statement.
"Akbez Mosque received 700 lira worth of materials, construction materials, directly procured. Not even a single nail was given to the mosque, and when the association president gave his statement, he said he hadn't received anything and hadn't made any such request. He has his statement, these are official documents.
...They haven't given anything to the mosque. The Mosque Association president even testified, saying, "Let them burn it down here, isn't it a shameful sin?" Now imagine they're paying the road construction company with three separate checks, along with a fuel receipt. They're billing their own company as if they did the work. One is definitely worth five.
...The municipality provides work; they install sidewalks and roads. They can also provide direct procurement, and there's no problem with that either, but the person doing the work has to issue an invoice. They have to pay the insurance premiums for the workers they employ and provide a debt document from the treasury. None of this is happening; they're practically robbing the municipality."
"WHOEVER KNOWS WHAT, LET THEM COME OUT AND TELL"
Karataş, who claimed that the AKP Hatay Provincial Youth Branch President disappeared after taking two or three sacrificial animals from citizens selling them in Hassa during the holiday, said the following:
They raised sacrificial animals and went and bought two or three from each house. The man is currently unavailable, the Youth Branch President. As far as I know, he also receives a monthly salary from the municipality company, but it's not available. Is this appropriate for an AKP municipality?
...Friends, please, if anyone knows, come forward and speak for all the provinces and districts. I'm speaking for Hassa. If there's corruption or bribery going on in any municipality, come forward and speak out. Thieves are running rampant, bill collectors are running rampant. If someone steals chicken or eggs, they'll be incarcerated the same day. They're robbing the entire municipality."
